McGinnis Lochridge is proud to announce that Mitchell Chaney has joined the firm as a part of the Litigation Team in their Austin office. He comes to us from Brownsville, Texas, where he was previously a name partner at his own firm for over 30 years. Mitch has tried cases on both the federal and state levels involving automotive products, ATVs, firearms and other product liability cases. His practice focuses on Personal Injury & Wrongful Death Litigation, Professional Liability Litigation, Complex Business Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation, and South Texas matters.

“We are delighted that Mitch has joined the Firm as he will strengthen our litigation and first-chair trial lawyer capabilities,” said Partner and Litigation Practice Chair Carlos Soltero.

Mitchell’s positions on the Products Liability Advisory Council, the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, a council member for the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas and a life member of the Texas Bar Foundation are only some of many different professional organizations in which he has been involved. In addition, Mitchell has co-authored several articles on railroad litigation and helps teach a course in taking depositions at his alma mater the University of Kansas, School of Law where he received his J.D.

Aside from being a member of the State Bar of Texas, Mitchell is also licensed in Missouri and Kansas, as well as being admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals 5th Circuit, U.S. District Courts for the Western, Northern, Eastern and Southern District of Texas, and the U.S. District Court District of Kansas. Mitchell has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer, a Thomson Reuters service, every year since 2004 and listed in Best Lawyers© since 2009.
